On-the-Job Training (OJT)
OJT is an agreement between IDVR and an employer to hire and train a DVR job seeker. In return for hiring and training an IDVR job seeker, the employer receives a training reimbursement on paid wages to the trainee. This service helps the employer by reducing the expense of training a new employee. It also allows the employer to take the necessary time to train an employee in their own processes and procedures.
On-the-Job Training helps IDVR job seekers by allowing them to learn a new job on-the-job and then upon successfully completing the training, be hired by the employer. During the training period, the IDVR job seeker is covered under the employers’ (or State of Idaho) workers’ compensation. All an employer has to do is sign an OJT Agreement and complete some paperwork to become an IDVR vendor.
