PTSD Awareness Month
PTSD Awareness Month
June is designated as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month, a period dedicated to highlighting the widespread impact of PTSD and promoting empathy and support for those living with this condition. This annual observance aims to educate the public about PTSD, correct misconceptions, and stress the significance of early intervention and treatment.
PTSD Awareness Month began in 2010 when the United States Senate officially recognized June as a time to increase awareness about PTSD. Since then, countless organizations, mental health professionals, and advocates have worked together to amplify the voices of those affected and enhance public understanding of their experiences.
