Training Topics Available for Businesses

This page provides a brief overview of the various areas that IDVR can provide no-cost training to your business on. Disability Awareness & Etiquette: Participants will gain an understanding of disability etiquette basics, disability language, and much more!

ADA Basics: Participants will gain an understanding of what the ADA is, and its purpose & history and can also provide specifics to understand how the ADA applies to everyday situations.

ADA and Employment: Participants will gain an understanding of the employment related aspects of the ADA and best practices for hiring and supporting persons with disabilities in your workplace. 

Reasonable Accommodations: Participants will gain an understanding of the requirements under the ADA to provide reasonable accommodations, define reasonable accommodation, and understand the interactive process

Serving Customers with Disabilities: Participants will learn how the ADA focuses on enhancing accessibility and services for customers with disabilities, and clarify myths and misunderstandings about service animal provisions.

Public Services & the ADA: Participants will learn about the prevalence of disability and societal implications, legal obligations, and best practices for public entities under the ADA.

Public Accommodations: Participants will increase their comfort in interacting with persons with disabilities in Title III entities, provide information about legal responsibilities, accessible program provision, architectural requirements, and more.

Accessible Technology: Participants will learn about the growing demand for accessible technology, use of technology for reasonable accommodations, and the assistive technology evaluation process.
