Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) for Potential and Current Applicants:
Below is information based on frequently asked questions about the application process for VR services under Order of Selection (OOS).
IDVR entered an order of selection on Monday, September 9th, 2024. Following federal requirements, IDVR is utilizing a waitlist system to ensure that all customers determined eligible are served based on their disability priority category and application date. This means that individuals will not be able to begin receiving services immediately after being determined eligible for services.
IDVR encourages everyone interested in VR services to apply as soon as possible, because your application date is important under Order of Selection. The sooner you complete an application for VR services, the sooner you will be removed from the waitlist to work with a counselor once resources are available.
You can contact your local VR office to schedule an orientation and/or intake appointment. For more information on the application process, please visit our How to Apply page.
If you complete an application for VR services, you will be mailed a written letter with your eligibility determination within 60 days from your application date. In some cases, eligibility determinations may take longer than 60 days. If more time is needed to determine your eligibility, a VR employee will reach out regarding the need for more time to complete your eligibility determination.
The amount of time you are on the wait list will depend on Agency resources, your disability category assignment, and your date of application. IDVR cannot provide specific information on waitlist times for anyone on a waitlist. For more information visit IDVR’s Waitlist Management and Disability Priority Assignment under Order of Selection page.
