On-The-Job Training:

On-the-Job Training (OJT) is an agreement between IDVR and an employer to hire and train a DVR job seeker. In return for hiring and training an IDVR job seeker, the employer receives a training reimbursement on paid wages to the trainee. This service helps the employer by reducing the expense of training a new employee. It also allows the employer to take the necessary time to train an employee in their own processes and procedures.

On-the-Job Training helps IDVR job seekers by allowing them to learn a new job on-the-job and then upon successfully completing the training, be hired by the employer. During the training period, the IDVR job seeker is covered under the employers' (or State of Idaho) workers’ compensation. All an employer has to do is sign an OJT Agreement and complete some paperwork to become an IDVR vendor.

Disability Awareness Training for Employers:

Idaho DVR has developed a Disability Awareness Training toolkit that contains presentations, activities, DVDs, and handouts covering a number of topics. They include Disability Etiquette, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Accommodations, the Benefits of Hiring People with Disabilities, and DVR 101. The presentations and activities can be customized to meet your organization’s needs. Our staff can come to your place of business to conduct the training.

Whether you are an organization which desires to develop a culture recognizing the value of diversity and accessibility, or you are an organization which desires to strengthen this culture, our toolkit should have something for you. If it does not, we can prepare something for you.
